Sofia 365: Day 337

Day 337: 2.10.13

Happy Tuesday everyone, a few more posts today…

——–

Sunday was a busy day of working, as are most weekends nowadays.

In the morning I was back again doing hair and makeup for the set of Causality, a webseries, for a few hours. Afterwards, I headed out to a charity event for breast cancer called Speed Rack on Capitol Hill. I was helping to do hair and makeup for the female bartenders that were competing in a speed bar-tending competition, all in support of breast cancer research. I got to work with a few of my makeup artist friends and also hang out and watch the event for a bit, it was volunteer, but we got lots of free drinks and even a free bottle of booze to take home, pretty sweet. I think that was the first time I’d ever been paid in alcohol before; it was a fun event to watch though, these girls are super talented!

Jason joined me for a bit at the event, then we headed out to grab some food with a couple other of my stylist friends I’d been working with. It was a fun evening and a fun day of working; always nice to be able to work with a group of people that are talented and get along.

Here’s Sofie, chillin’ at my mom’s rocking the sweet sweater my grandma got her from Ecuador.

Sofia 365: Day 336

Day 336: 2.9.13

Last Saturday was another day of shooting for the web series Causality that I have been working on.
I woke up feeling a little under the weather, so I swung by set to get the talent into their makeup for the day and make sure everything was all good before heading back home to rest.
After that, most of the day was filled with lying on the couch being a sicky lazy butt and watching lots of Netflix… lots…

Sofie spent another day with grandma and grandpa, enjoying lots of Toy Story, I’m sure.

Day 335: 2.8.13

I feel like I’m never caught up for long.

‘Tis the life of a busy person… but I say better busy than bored.

The 8th, I had a nice little morning with Sofie before heading back to Seattle later in the day for work that weekend.

My parents have been so helpful with Sofie lately; I know not everyone has the help and support that I have, and I need to remind myself how lucky I am and appreciate my family for all that they do.

Sofie is a lucky girl too, to have so many people that love and care for her.

Day 334: 2.7.13

Graaah!

Things have been so crazy lately. My mind has been all over the place and I’ve been so busy, haven’t quite figured out if it’s a good crazy or bad yet…

Well…

I still have a lot to catch up on, but hopefully I’ll have some time to do that this week.

Last Thursday I was still at my parents house with Sofie, but since I had acting workshop that evening I headed out to Seattle in the late afternoon while Sofie stayed behind with my parents again. I was able to get back to my parents house later in the evening after work shop, instead of staying in Seattle.  Sofie was fast asleep by the time I got back, but it was nice to just be able to come home to her.

Had another good acting workshop, and I finally got to pick out a monologue to work on for the end of training. I still need to get that memorized…

Day 333: 2.6.13

I can probably handle doing one post before I head to bed… boy I’ve just been so exhausted lately. Constantly, completely tired, I can’t sleep enough…

I have a lot to catch up on after all…

Last Wednesday I was still feeling really stressed and overwhelmed with Sofie and everything else happening relationship-wise, and I just decided I needed help.

I headed back to my parents house with Sofie to take a little time to think. I know it seems like I use my parents as a crutch since they are so close and always willing to help me. Maybe I take advantage of it, but it’s hard not to when it is seemingly my “easy way out”. I know I’m lucky to have the help that I do, not everybody does, few people, probably, and I do appreciate the support they give me.

My parents love Sofie, and I know they love and care about the both of us.

I’m young and I still have a lot to figure out about life; I just hope it’s sooner rather than later. Not for myself, but for Sofie’s sake too.

Sofia 365: Day 332

Day 332: 2.5.13

Last Tuesday was a bit of a rough day, I have to admit.

Sofie was being pretty difficult and I could hardly keep patient with her all day.
Trying to run errands with her was a disaster, and I almost wanted to cry when she threw a tantrum in the grocery store.

Worst part is whenever I’m out in public with her and she starts acting out, I feel like everybody else in the vicinity is judging me based on how I deal with the situation. They probably aren’t, but either way, I don’t really win.

Toddlers… they’re very testy aren’t they? One moment she’s giving hugs and kisses, the next she’s screaming on the floor and I can’t get her up.

Bahh, I hope she grows out of this soon…

It was a long day, but in the very least, I had a little time for myself in the evening to wind down.

Day 331: 2.4.13

Phew, another crazy weekend behind me…

And I’m still behind, so boo for that.

Last Monday, Sofie and I spent a little more time at my parents house before heading home that afternoon.

The keyboard I’ve had at my apartment in Seattle had been broken since we moved in (long story), so I’d been itching to play piano for a while.
My parents still have my upright from my piano lesson days, so I had a little time that morning to play a bit for Sofie. She still doesn’t really have the attention span to teach her much, but she definitely enjoys dancing!

I have to get that girl into some dancing classes or something…

Anywho, after lunch, Sofie and I drove back home to Seattle. We were there just before dinner, and Jason was really excited to see her since he hadn’t in quite a few days.

Nice evening over all. Always good to have everybody together.

Sofia 365: Day 330

Day 330: 2.3.13

Sunday, back on set of Causality again. Also, the Super bowl, so most everybody I knew was more excited about that but hey, I do makeups, I don’t watch sports. My dad was pretty excited though ’cause his favorite team was going this year (the 49’ers) sad for him that they lost though…(posting late enough that this isn’t a spoiler right?).

Again, lucky for me, they cut me loose from set after lunch, so I was able to jet back over to my parents house to be home with Sofie that night. I was worried that it would be another long day and I wouldn’t have been able to see her until Monday, but I was super happy to be able to go home to her!
Any time I’m away from her for long periods of time I get withdrawals, I love that little girl so much.
Snuggling up with her is just the best thing ever, and it was a great end to my weekend.

Day 329: 2.2.13

Playing catch-up is fun! At this rate, I’ll be on schedule in a couple days… ahhhh.

Saturday was a “work” day for me, luckily for me most of what I entail as “work” is usually fun because it’s doing what I love and usually doing it with people that I like.
It was another weekend on the web series that I have been working on (Causality). Usually the makeup work for this shoot is pretty simple, powder, and some occasional fx, it was a nice change to do something a little more “vamped” up (see here). I always love making people purty. 🙂

I got done with work a little earlier than I thought, so Jason and I had a chance to go out and have a little fun seeing our friend’s band  Country Lips play a show at a local bar. It was a fun little night out, but we had to remember to be responsible because I had to work and get up early the next morning. Still fun though!

Day 327: 1.31.13

Forcing myself to do one more post before I go to bed…

My head is swimming, so much to do and think about… it gets hard to concentrate when I get like this.

———-

Thursday I left my parents house and headed back to Seattle for the night since I had my acting workshop. It turned out to be a pretty fun class, we did improv the whole time, and it was cool to get some creative juices flowing. I don’t typically think of myself as very funny, but it’s rewarding to be able to work with a group of talented people that don’t judge, mostly because they’re making fools of themselves as well.

There are very few “safe” places like that any more. About half way done with classes, I need to get working on memorizing my monologues!
