Episode 7: Side Effects of the Coronavirus

With recent events surrounding Coronavirus in the last few weeks, there’s been an understandable uptick in public anxiety— but unfortunately racism and xenophobia towards Chinese and Asian communities have seen an increase as well. 😒 I say this not to downplay the unending racism that black and brown people have to deal with on the daily, because this is the reality many of my friends face— but I’m here to say that racism in general is NOT OK. So let’s do better. 🤙🏼

It’s important during these uncertain times that we stay safe, but also informed. Spreading misinformation is no help to anyone, and we must all do our part to support our neighbors and community members. A lot of folks are hurting right now and the Seattle economy is being hit hard. COVID-19 isn’t just affecting our physical and mental health, it’s affecting our livelihoods. If you are one of those fortunate enough to be getting paid to work from home, and you are financially able, please do your part to support your local community and businesses. Not to mention, let’s do our best to support all the artists, service industry workers and other freelancers who depend on gigs to pay their bills who are having clients cancel. It’s getting wild out here. 😅

I will do my best to share financial support resources for the local community as I come across them. We’re all in this together y’all, please stay healthy and safe. 🙏🏼❤️

Sofia 365: A Year in the Making

This is it.

I’ve finished it.

The culmination of everything I have been working toward for the last year is here.

The reason why I was the “crazy mom” on Facebook that  posted pictures of her daughter every day, it all now (hopefully) makes sense.

Living day by day, sometimes it’s hard to notice the changes of your little one growing, but they happen, and they happen faster than you think.
Sometimes you take it for granted, and once that moment is gone, it’s gone; they will never be this small, or sweet or innocent again, so cherish those moments.

All the hours and time I spent on this project with Sofia  has been condensed into less than 8 minutes of a beautiful, wonderful, transformation.

Every day, every photo, every frustrating moment, every laugh, and every emotion in between had been captured day by day for an entire year.

And this is what it looks like.

Hope you enjoy!

Something Fun

Sofie and I have gotten into the habit of singing songs the past few days. She loves to dance and asks me to sing.

Here’s a favorite as of late, “Pumped up Kicks” by Foster the People

Excuse the bad sound quality, web cam mic doesn’t pic up very well!

Sofie was too cute in this video not to share. 🙂

(I’m an amateur at guitar, don’t judge!)

March Update, Me Rambling, and Sofia 365!

Hi All,

I know it seems I’ve completely dropped off earth the past few weeks, I’ve been super busy, but just wanted to do a quick update since it’s the week leading up to Sofie’s birthday.

Here’s a little of my plan for the culmination of my “Sofia 365” project, as well as what I’ve been up to lately.

Thanks for watching!

Weekly Vlog – Sleep Issues!

This video is going up a little late, but I had a busy weekend!

I’m talking about sleep issues today, and how it’s been hard getting settled into a regular pattern. If any of you parents out there have suggestions on how we can all get more sleep, please leave a comment! Let me know what works for you, I ‘d love to hear suggestions.

Thanks for watching!

First Weekly Vlog! + Some New Resolutions

One of my new years resolutions is to try and do a video update once a week to talk about various things happening in my life, so here’s my first one!

I talk about a few more resolutions I’m making for the year, as well as what’s happening this week. Hope you enjoy!

New Year, New Outlook

I definitely couldn’t let the year end without getting in one more Vlog post.

It’s that time of year to feel especially nostalgic, talk about the years accomplishments, failures, embarrassments and learning moments.

Looking back at my resolutions from last year, there’s definitely a lot I didn’t accomplish, but there are a few that I actually succeeded at, and/or am now working towards.

This last year threw a lot of curve balls at me, and it certainly wasn’t the easiest, but I will grow, and learn, and move forward.

I wanted to take a few moments to reflect on the last year, and set myself a few more goals for 2013!

Here’s to a a fresh start with a new year!

Sofia 365: Day 39

Day 39: 4.18.12

The weather started out a bit questionable this morning, but it ended up being a beautiful day. Took Sofie out to the park after running some errands, she really enjoyed running around out in the grass. Picking flowers, and chasing dogs.

Snapped this photo right before we left, you can see she had her bunny and she was ready to roll.

A little extra today, I also uploaded a video of Sofie playing in the grass and flowers. Enjoy!

Ready to Roll!
