Sofia 365: Day 309

Day 309: 1.13.13

Sunday, Sofie spent one last day at my parents house while I spent another afternoon working on set of the webseries (Causality).

My call time for set was a little later in the day, so before leaving in the morning, Jason and I got up a little early to do some cleaning around the building. Our management duties had been a bit neglected over the holidays, so we did a clean sweep and got some organizing done as well.

Then I left for set and we spent another day out in the elements filming, so very very cold, I’m glad I bundled up! Once I got home and un-thawed again I was so tired!

However, one of my best friends from high school, Amber, was in town visiting for the week, so I went out to grab some coffee and catch up with her. I wanted to be able to spend as possible while she was visiting.
Amber is staying with another old friend along from high school, so I went down to pick them up and it was a nice little reunion. It honestly felt so surreal walking around back in Seattle with these girls, but it was also pretty nice too to see some old friendly faces.

Sofia 365: Day 308

Day 308: 1.12.13

Alrighty, a couple more catch-up posts from this weekend and then I’m going to allow myself time to do some fun stuff (and by that I mean, play some video games before bed.)

Saturday Sofie was off at my mom’s for the weekend, so I left the house early that morning to head out to the web series I was working on with my friend Autumn for the weekend.
Be sure to check it out – http://www.watchcausality.com/

It was FREEZING. Took about 10 minutes to even thaw my car out to drive anywhere, then we spent the whole day shooting in the basement of a cold house. Even though it was cold, it was definitely better than being outside.

The shoot was plenty fun though, and it’s always nice working with my friends. I’m really looking forward to seeing how this all is going to come together.

I headed home later that evening to warm up and relax, Jason sort of got me back into playing video/computer games, nerdy RPG stuff, and I’m not too proud to say I’m getting pretty into it again! Hence, why I want to have some time to play before going to bed.

There does, after all need to be a balance between work and play. 🙂

Sofia 365: Day 307

Day 307: 1.11.13

Friday, I had a long day of photo shoots and work ahead of me for the weekend, so I had made arrangements for Sofie to visit with my mom and dad.

That morning I went down to meet my mom at the ferry to make the “Sofie Transfer”, we’ve actually got it down pretty well by this point. Sofie loves riding the ferry, and she loves visiting with her grandma and grampy!

After dropping off Sofie, I headed out to my photo shoot where I basically was for the rest of the day. It was a fun day of doing makeup, always reminds me of how much I love my job! When I got home, Jason and I decided to check out a store down the street that sold locally grown and prepared meals (Eat Local). Meaning all the ingredients were sourced locally and are organic or sustainably grown. We had been wanting to check it out for a while, and we felt that it was a good night to do it. So we braved the cold and made our way down to check the place out.
First off, they had TONS of food options, and for about $8 to $9 per meal serving, it was pretty affordable too. There was a decent amount of vegetarian options for me, and even a few kid-friendly meals as well. We decided to get a few options to try over the next couple of days then headed back home.

The food was good, not the greatest, but definitely worth trying. I’m sure we’ll be going back to try even more of the entrees, since there are a ton to choose from, I’m sure there will be something we’ll like!

Sofia 365: Day 306

Day 306: 1.10.13

Sorry for the delay in these posts, things have been a bit scattered the past few days.

Let’s see where we left off…

Thursday, Thursday, Thursday… (and now I remember why I decided to try and post every day!)

It was a bit of a rough day at home, and as it goes in relationships, you have your ups and downs; Thursday was just another one of those “downs”, but we were able to work though it and by the end of the day it wasn’t so bad.

I stayed home that day since I didn’t really feel like going anywhere, but after dinner and Sofie went to bed Jason got me an awesome ice cream sundae from Molly Moon’s so that definitely made me feel better!

Sofie hugs also make me feel better too, and there were plenty of those to go around that day.

Sofia 365: Day 305

Day 305: 1.9.13

If I were to describe this day in one word, it would probably be “shredding”.

Now before your mind wanders off to wonder what that could mean, let me explain…

In an effort for this family to go “paperless” this year, we have started going through all of our old paperwork that we have been carrying around for years, (my boyfriend, Jason’s, having the majority of that load), and getting rid of it.

This has actually turned into quite an entertaining activity for Sofie, who has taken to putting things into our little paper shredder. In fact, she spent over an hour at it today. And hey, I’m not complaining! If it’s going to keep her busy and happy, I’m all for it. Plus! We’re getting rid of all of our paper clutter around the house, it feels pretty good. Soon enough, we’ll have an easy, paperless, streamlined life, and I think the environment will thank us for it.

Other than that, my first acting workshop/class was tonight! So I went out for a couple of hours this evening to attend. The members of the class were all introduced today and we did the usual “first-day-of-class-getting-to-know-each-other” type of stuff. I have to admit, I did have a good time though. It’s been a while since I’ve been a part of any sort of “class” or organized group of people like that, it took today’s experience to kind of remind me of how much I missed it. It’s nice to feel like I’m a part of a group outside of my family and working realm…
Looking forward to what we’ll do next week!

Well, I guess that’s it for today! I have a lot that I’m planning for this blog, especially in terms of expanding my writing and what I cover here, and I think it’ll be good, so I’m going to be working on that the next couple of days as well. Hope you all are able to stay tuned for that!

Until then, have a good night!

Sofia 365: Day 304

Day 304: 1.8.13

The rain has been crazy today. It’s been pouring for hours tonight, and no signs of stopping. On the bright side, at least we live on a hill!

Today, I had my very first audition for a commercial! It was a little nerve wracking, but I think I did okay! Had to recite a few lines to a camera, and even fell on my face a couple of times (purposely for the audition of course…). Never thought my clumsiness would serve useful before!

Well, I should hopefully find out in a few days if they pick me, the anticipation is gonna kill me!

We’ll see…

Almost forgot to take a photo of Sofie, she was so excited for bath time! But here she is in her jammies with her pink makeup brush too. 🙂

Sofia 365: Day 303

Day 303: 1.7.13

We are just trooping along aren’t we? One week into the New Year, and I’m feeling pretty good! Do I still have a huge pile of work I need to do? Yes, but I’m going to feel good doing it goshdarnit!

It was a bit of a dreary day today, didn’t really get out of the house to do anything until after noon. Mostly spent the morning eating bagels we got the past weekend and just hanging out. Morning are always so slow for me, I need to work on that… Perhaps I just need to suck it up and start going to bed earlier and waking up earlier, like I had “resolved” to do last year.

Maybe this year I’ll actually make it happen? I mean, Sofie was up before ME this morning! I feel like I should be the one waking her up…

Well, the rest of the day went pretty well. Sofie did a little grocery shopping, but probably shouldn’t have done it while Sofie was hungry, because she was crying for food the whole time (should have eaten that breakfast I gave to her!). But, on the bright side, it was one of the more fast and efficient shopping trips I’ve had because of it.

Once we got home, Sofie and I had a late lunch, hung out some more, did a little work in between when I could, then had an early-ish dinner since Sofie was without a nap all day again. This time, she was falling asleep at the table. Jason and I couldn’t help but chuckle watching her, it’s so cute how hard she tries to stay awake!

So, I tempted her with a bath, only before I was able to coax a few pictures out of her, then I got her clean and cozy and she was asleep in no time.
This early to bed thing with Sofie the past few days have actually been pretty great for me, I’ve managed to get a lot done and organized. I should probably try to keep this up, no good having a baby up at 11 o’clock at night! (On the other hand, just cause she’s going to bed early, doesn’t mean I should be staying up late! I need to become a morning person…)

Sofia 365: Day 302

Day 302: 1.6.13

Had another nice day yesterday with Sofie.

I feel like I’m getting off to a good start with 2013. I’m trying to be more productive, more organized, and setting some new goals for myself this year. I will be sure to share these goals very soon!

I am also working on getting my company off on it’s sophomore year of business, making a few changes on that end as well, plus I’m working towards a goal of being paperless by the end of the year!

I took one last trip to Target with Sofie, I feel like I go there quite often these days… probably because I have a ton of gift cards to spend from the holidays… although I should still be saving money… Sofia and I have gone there so much this past month that she has learned to expect to get a sticker at the check out line, she even asks for them! “Please, Sticker, Please!”

I had to return an item I purchased last week that I realized was broken, but unfortunately for me, I had the irritating realization at the store that they no longer had that item in stock. So I had to buy multiple of a similar item, even though they didn’t really do the job as well as the original item I had bought, and then of course I get distracted and end up spending more money, because I always do that…

Once Sofie and I got home, Jason’s dad came over to watch the Seahawk’s game. Apparently they’re doing well this year? Not that I pay much attention to professional sports, mostly just over grown jocks getting paid millions of dollars to throw a ball around for a few hours every few days. That seems fair, right?

Well, they won, and everybody was happy.

So, long story short, do I still really care? Nope.

Anyhow, Sofie got through the day without a nap, and was pretty tired and cranky by the end of it. We got through dinner without her dozing off, then bath, then off to night night land. And then the adults had a little time to pig out on chocolates and watch more Portlandia, the show is even funnier in the second season!

Sofia 365: Day 301

Day 301: 1.5.13

Saturday Jason and I awoke, a little late, after sleeping off the fun (and possibly some booze…) we had the night before. I was planning on doing a little work done around the house before picking Sofie back up from my parents in the early afternoon.

My parents came over on the ferry with her later that day and I met them downtown to pick Sofie up. We were planning on going to Jason’s grandma’s house, (Sofie’s great-grandmother!) for dinner, so after stopping by the house for a little bit to pick up a few necessities, we drove over to Bellevue to visit his family.
It was a nice,  fun evening, we don’t typically see Jason’s dad’s side of the family that often so it was cool to pay them a visit, and have Sofie get to know them a little better as well.

Sofie seemed to have a great time, and we even ended up hanging out later than we expected too! After heading home, Sofie was pretty pooped after not napping all day and doing all the running around she did. We were all pretty much ready for bed, by then, so wasn’t long before we were all snoozing along with Sofie.

Day 301: 1.5.13

Sofia 365: Day 300

Day 300: 1.4.13

Wow, we’ve made it to the 300th post!

Gosh, now we just have a little over 60 days to go. This is crazy, and then she’ll be TWO!

Time just honestly flies by so quickly…

Yesterday was a bit of a fun day for Jason and I.

After spending the night at my mom’s, Sofie stayed behind for an extra night so Jason and I could have a night out on the town. We were invited to come see a show by a local band  (Sleepy Pilot) that I recently did hair styling for a music video for. It was at the Hard Rock Cafe downtown and neither Jason or I had been there before so we figured it would be a fun experience.

Plus! The drummer of the band had the exact same name as Jason, two Jason Bairs in one place, imagine that!

We drove down for the show and stayed to watch the band play their set, I must say drinks at the Hard Rock are pretty expensive!

All in all, it was a fun show, and Jason Bair and Jason Bair finally came face to face after they have haunted each other at Guitar Center for years. And they would have probably never met unless I did that music video too. Weird how things work out like that…

After the show, we headed back up to the hill with a craving for sweets. So we headed over to the local chocolate bar to pick up some truffles and some tiramisu for dessert. Boy was it good…

We ate our sweets and watched a few episodes of Portlandia on Netflix before passing out. Good night, good night…

Snapped a picture of Sofie before I left to head back to Seattle that morning, I’m pretty sure she knew I was leaving. Look at that stink eye!
