Sofia 365: Day 211

Day 211: 10.8.12

Monday was my first day on set for a photo shoot series with a local photographer. We were expected to be gone all day so Sofie went over to her Grandma’s house for the day.

As for me, after gathering at a parking lot in Redmond to carpool, myself, model, photographer, assistant, and wardrobe stylists all hopped into a super cool production RV and drove out to the middle of nowhere to do a very awesome fashion-y photo shoot with really expensive clothes and accessories.

We ended up being out there a little longer than planned, so I got home a bit late, and pretty bitten up by mosquitoes, but in good spirits otherwise.

After I came back to pick up Sofie, we gave her a bath, and she fell asleep on the ride home. I had hoped to try to get a picture once I got back, but she was totally zonked out, so I just got a picture of her sleeping instead. How peaceful, right?

Sofia 365: Day 210

Day 210: 10.7.12

Sunday, we took another trip down to the local farmers market to get some fresh fruits, veggies and general yummy food. Sofie had another great time seeing lots of dog dogs and eating up the samples of awesome local foods.

After the market we went home to eat all of the deliciousness we bought and had a nice quiet (as quiet as you can get with a baby) evening at home.

As always, Sofie was being a little goof for her photos. I threw in a little extra action shot of her since it was so good. 🙂

Sofia 365: Day 207

Day 207: 10.4.12

Yesterday was another day of little errands with Sofie. It’s so nice having pretty much everything I need within walking distance. All I have to do is walk out the door, stick Sofie in a stroller, and wham, we’re there! Grocery store, park, shopping… it’s pretty sweet.

Sofia has had so much energy lately, she’s been staying up a little later than I’d like, might have to start cutting down on her naps…

I also have a little something extra today. Sofie’s current favorite song is “Gangnam Style” by Psy, she can’t help but dance to it when she hears it – so I made a little video of her dancing the other day. It’s soo adorable. You can watch it down below. Enjoy!

Sofia 365: Day 206

Day 206: 10.3.12

Welp, it feels great to be all caught up.
It’s time I started getting back into the routine again… I still have a lot of organizing to do, but now that the busy Summer season has past, I will have much more time to focus on what I have been slacking on.

Speaking of slacking… today was a bit of a lazy day, but I think a much deserved one. With all the running around I’ve been doing the past few weeks I have been so exhausted! Sofia and I spent the whole day inside just tinkering and playing, it was nice to have a lazy day with her though, and I think she would agree.

We read books and practiced words, she’s getting very good at imitating my sounds and small phrases. Pretty soon, she’ll be talking in whole sentences!

Here she is, right after waking up from her (very long) afternoon nap; but thanks to her (very long) afternoon nap, I was able to catch up on all of my picture posts, so hooray for that!

Sofia 365: Day 205

Day 205: 10.2.12

Phew! It feels so good to be caught up!

Yesterday was a nice day. Even with Jason still home, we couldn’t get much organizing done with Sofie around. So after tinkering around the house in the morning and Sofie took her afternoon nap, I took her out to the park in the afternoon. Sofie had so much energy running around, I have no clue where she gets it! We spent over a good hour playing at Cal Anderson, mostly going up and down the slide.

Afterwards we headed over to Jason’s mom’s house for traditional Dancing with the Stars watching for the results show.

Thankfully for me though, with all that running around I did with Sofie earlier that afternoon she was totally wiped and went to bed easily.

Here, a good example of her unending energy – even with all the running around at the park she still couldn’t hold still for a picture!

Sofia 365: Day 204

Day 204: 10.1.12

Monday! After some morning errands I met my mom down at the ferry later that afternoon to pick up Sofie after nearly a week of missing her! We were completely moved into the new apartment now, but the hardest part was over.
Jason and I were both so excited to have Sofie back, and I was excited to start our life in our new place, and new neighborhood.

Sofie looked pretty darn cute and happy to be back too. 🙂

Sofia 365: Day 203

Day 203: 9.30.12

Sunday was Sofie’s last whole day at my parent’s house. I was able to find someone to fill in for me for the day on set of the web series, so I made a quick stop by set to give her the low down before Jason and I made the last trek to our old apartment to finally get it finished, empty, clean and turn in the keys.

It was definitely bitter sweet, but I was glad we moved. It was a long, trans formative year at that place, and we had many of Sofie’s “firsts” there, but we are ready to move on and start our new life back where we feel most at home: back in Seattle.

Sofia 365: Day 202

Day 202: 9.29.12

Saturday, I had another prior commitment to a friend working on a local web series. So I had to leave Jason to do moving alone for the day while I went to work on set. Luckily we wrapped shooting early and I was able to help unpack and organize for a bit. We were both pretty exhausted though, so we tucked in early so we could get a fresh start in the morning.

It was Sofie’s last couple of days with her grandpa and grandma, and I was getting excited to see her again.

Sofia 365: Day 201

Day 201: 9.28.12

After a long night of painting, I was pretty tired, but unfortunately, no sleeping in for me.

I had a prior commitment to do makeup for a press event at Bellevue Fashion week, so with less than 2 hours of sleep I managed to pull myself together (pretty nicely, in fact) to make it to work for a few hours in the morning.

Regardless of the fact that I was stinkin’ tired, I still had a great time working and made a few business connections too. After the fancy work stuff was over I headed straight back to the old place to continue moving the rest of our stuff. Which we still had a lot of…

Sofie was still at my parent’s house and I was missing her quite a bit, but I knew that by the end of the weekend, it would all be worth it!

Sofia 365: Day 200

Day 200: 9.27.12

Wow, we’ve reached our 200th post and photo! That’s so crazy to think about… we are well over half a year into this project, and it seems like ages ago when I first decided to do it!

But back to reality – I need to catch up on posts, and I’m almost there!

Sofie’s 2nd day at my parents house while Jason and I continued to move our ridiculously large amounts of stuff to our new apartment.
With the end of the month looming, we still had a lot of work to do: painting was one of them.

We started early and spent the day and night painting our apartment back to the stark white we first found it as, we even enlisted the help of Jason’s siblings (a la emergency paint party) so we wouldn’t go completely mad painting all night (though we still nearly did). Thank goodness for the help we got! I really thought I liked painting, but not like that!

Meanwhile Sofie spent another day with her grandparents completely oblivious that her parents were working their butts off cleaning the old apartment that she’ll never see again or probably remember.

What a life, eh?
