Alright alright! One more post then I REALLY have to sleep.
Last Friday I headed back to Seattle by myself to catch my friend Anna’s play that evening. Jason and I went with another friend of mine to check it out. It was a fun little comedy about the 44 U.S presidents presented by four women, including my friend Anna.
We got in a little late, but it was definitely a fun show to watch. Later, that same night, we headed over to catch the last bit of a show (of the music variety), and hung out with Jason’s sister and her boyfriend.
It was quite the eventful night, to say the least.
Here’s Sofie’s picture from the day, courtesy of my parents! Looks like she got into my dads slippers! Silly girl.
Alrighty… I know I’m on a roll, but I also should sleep. I think I’ve done a good job getting half-way through, so I’ll finish the rest tomorrow! (Or try to anyways…)
Thursday, I went back over to Poulsbo with Sofie since I had a dentist appointment (probably should find one in Seattle finally…maybe), so Sofie and I hopped on the ferry in the morning and made our way over.
Getting my teeth cleaned is always a weird encounter. Being a dentist must be such a weird job, I mean, I’m sure they make good money, but I don’t know if I could just stare into people’s mouths all day…
Still, it is definitely a nice feeling to rub my fingers on my teeth and hear it literally “squeaky” clean.
Sofie’s little teeth are almost all in, just a few molars missing, not too long from now she’ll have to make her first trek to the dentist…
Well, I was definitely glad to at least get my camera back, I sure did miss it!
We spent the rest of the day with my mom, just tinkering around the house.
My mom knit Sofie that cute little vest she’s wearing in the picture. She’s actually quite good at that sort of thing!
Wednesday was another bit of a slow day, until the evening.
During the day Sofie and I just hung out, walked around for a bit, mostly doing a whole lot of nothing. Then my friend Anna texted me asking if I wanted to help her out and do her hair and makeup for a photo shoot at another friend, Brady’s house. I met Anna from doing makeup for a feature film she was acting in this past summer, the director was Brady, and Sofie also made a cameo in the movie! Her on-screen debut!
She is just a scowly scowl in it, but it’s a great performance, one of many more to come I’m sure. 🙂
So anyway, Sofie and I headed over early that evening to hang out while I also did makeup. Sofie had a nice time following around the cat and watching weird music videos on some weird MTV channel.
She was pretty tired by the end of it though. I kept trying to chase her around for a photo, but alas, this might just be the crappiest of the crappy cellphone pictures I’ve taken of her. She kept playing with the seamless background paper and just wouldn’t hold still.
Oh well, like I said, the show MUST go on! (In this case, the blog project… must go on…)
Tuesday, I spent a lazy day at home with Sofie. I can’t remember really doing much, so it probably wasn’t that exciting. Most likely just watched, and re-watched, and re-watched Gangnam Style over and over again on Youtube, because that’s what Sofie likes to do…
Another thing we did watch though was the Dancing with the Stars results show, that was definitely a little nerve wracking. Especially since I like most of the dancers this Season. (They’re all so good!)
Anywhoo… another crappy cellphone pic. I know, I’m sorry, but the show must go on!
Sofie loves her Donald Duck stuffed animal, but since she can’t pronounce his name, she just calls him “Don Doon”. Cracks me up every time!
Two Mondays ago, I went to do hair and makeup for the last photo shoot in the series that I was working on with a local photographer. This time, we didn’t have to travel anywhere far, just Gas Works park in Seattle. So Sofie went over to her other grandma’s place to hang out for a few hours while I worked.
It was a rainy, chilly day, but thankfully we had portable heaters to keep us warm while we got ready to shoot. I had to leave a little early because Sofia had an (post-accident) follow-up at the doctors to be checked out, so I headed back to Bellevue to pick her up.
After the appointment and a clean bill of health, Sofie and I headed home for a few hours, then back to Jason’s moms house to watch Dancing with the Stars. A bit of a tradition. Sofie is really into the music and dancing, I must say, it’s pretty entertaining.
I also was able to borrow their camera to take her picture for the day while I was waiting to get mine back from my parents.
She wasn’t being very cooperative, but I was still able to get a decent one. As much as I think my camera is a piece of crap sometimes, I can really appreciate it when I’m having to use my cellphone to take pictures!
Sleep or get things done? Hmmm… for now, I’m trying to get things done. So here’s another post since I’m so sadly behind!
Sunday (two weeks ago…), I spent the day at my parents again with Sofie. My dad watched football with her again, or tried to, and now every time Sofie sees it on TV she does her hardest to yell “football!” but it comes out sounding more like “boo-bow”. She knows I know what she means…
After that, we headed back home to Seattle, and lo and behold when I got home I realized I forgot my camera at my parents house. (Oof…) So I had to resort to my crappy cellphone camera to get her picture for the day. Oh well… I mean, for forgetting my camera only a couple other times this year, I don’t think that’s too bad, right?
Ack! Drives me nuts how I feel like I’m always play catch-up. It’s November already and I’m still like 2 weeks behind!
Well, at least I’m getting this done now. I need to make a resolution this month to try and post every day. It’ll save me so much work, but sometimes I just don’t have the time…
Ah well… Anyways. When was this now? The 19th was 2 Fridays ago… I had headed over to my parents place to spend a couple of days and help out my parents again. My mom was still recovering from the accident, so I volunteered to be her “personal driver” for the weekend since she didn’t have a car to drive.
So, Sofie and I headed over to Poulsbo after running a few errands and got there in the late afternoon, just in time for dinner!
Here’s Sofia, all cleaned up and happy after her bath. Love her little Hello Kitty slippers. 🙂
Last Thursday, I got called up for another last-minute makeup gig, so Sofie went over to her grandma’s again for another day. I checked in again with my parents, and my mom was starting to do better and slowly move around again. Sofia seemed to have forgotten about the accident all together.
I spent another long, busy day working, my feet were so sore by the end, I was really looking forward to just sitting down! After I picked up Sofie, we headed home and crashed not long after. I was just really looking forward to the week being over.
Here’s Sofie from the morning before we left, sorry it’s so blurry, she wouldn’t hold still!
As much as I would have liked to have just stayed home and cuddled with Sofie all day, Wednesday, I was back working due to a prior obligation. Sofie headed over to her other grandma’s house. Luckily, it was a short job so I could get back to Sofie without getting too late.
I called my parents that morning to check on how my mom was healing, she was still pretty sore from the accident but doing well. Sofie a bit irritable getting into the car, but otherwise her normal, goofy self. I also got a bunch of calls from the dueling insurance companies regarding the accident (which we’re still dealing with currently).
After I finished my quick music video gig, I headed back to the apartment to pick up a few items. Somehow I got to cleaning… the house (and the building) was really due for some spiffing up. I ended up mopping, vacuuming, and dusting not only the apartment, but the entire building (it is my job as a resident manager after all… no really). Maybe it was something cathartic with the accident happening the day before. Maybe I deal with drama in my life by cleaning? Who knows, but I ended up scrubbing around for about 3 hours. I kind of felt like a freak.
I was also pretty exhausted afterwards, but quite proud of what I had done. The building didn’t look like it had seen a duster in years… vast improvement, I would certainly say…
Anyhoo, I got back to Jason’s mom’s in the early evening. Jason had already went straight over after work. We hung out for a bit then headed back home after dinner; I was wiped! Also, Sofie was not being very cooperative with the photos this time… so this was the best I could get!
