Last Sunday was another busy work day, not only did I have a wedding in the morning, but I was also meeting with a bride for a trial session in the afternoon!
After working hard and playing hard all weekend, all I wanted to do Sunday night was just crash and sleep. A quiet night at home was exactly what I needed.
Looked like Sofie had another good day with my parents; I know they had bought her a little mini pool, not sure if they had used it, but the weather was certainly opportune!
I love her little mismatched outfit, stripes and polka dots, classic!
Yikes! It’s been over a week since I posted last. Time to blast through these photos and catch up to the present!
Sofie was over at my parent’s house all last weekend as I was working, and also spending my evenings enjoying some time at the Capitol Hill Block Party with Jason.
Saturday was a beautiful day out, wish I was able to spend some more time outside, but after having a bit of a stressful morning doing hair and makeup for a wedding it was nice to unwind a bit and enjoy my night out with Jason and some good friends. Heard some good music, caught up with old friends, and got quite a good amount of socializing in, which rarely happens in this household!
Sofie was reportedly causing a little trouble at my parent’s house, not wanting to pose for photos and what not, but I still think they got a pretty decent one. What a colorful shirt!
Today I met with my mom downtown to drop Sofie off with her for the weekend. I have another busy weekend of work and also hoping for a bit of fun and relaxation at the Capitol Hill Block Party. Work hard all day, then play at night!
My mom, Sofie and I went out for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory, we were stuffed full of food, and did a little shopping downtown.
Afterwards I dropped my mom and Sofie off at the ferry and headed home to eat dinner and get ready to head out for some music with Jason.
Here’s Sofie’s photo from this morning before we headed out, she had gotten into my mail and was attracted to the pink shiny envelope, of course.
I heard on the radio that Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis were going to be in town to promote their new movie The Campaign. The rumor was that they’d be at a coffee shop in Pike Place Market to serve coffee for a short time in the afternoon.
I thought it might be a cool thing to check out with Sofie, so decided that I’d take her out that afternoon to Seattle. The weather had cleared at that point and it was actually pretty nice out. I walked down from my beauty studio with an acquaintance from my film projects that actually lives in the building as well. By the time we got to the market it was packed! There was no chance of getting through the crowds to see anything, it was so hot, I actually saw somebody faint. Sofie wasn’t a fan of the crowds either, she was pretty upset so we got out before the celebs even arrived.
I was hoping to catch even a glimpse, but the only hint of their arrival and departure were cheers from the crowd. Apparently they didn’t even stay to serve coffee like it was said, they breezed in and out within a few minutes.
Well, in the very least, it was a nice day for a walk…
Here’s Sofie’s photo from after we went home, cool drinks and food in her belly, and much happier.
And another week gone by, just like that! Now it’s time to catch up on photos again.
Wednesday I had a few trial runs at my beauty studio in the afternoon so Sofie went over to her Grandma’s house for the latter half of the day.
Snapped this photo of her before we headed out, she wanted to make sure her blankie got a photo op. 🙂
Besides some Target shopping this afternoon, it was a pretty average day in the household.
I had a few groceries as well as some items I wanted to pick up for the studio so after Sofie’s afternoon nap we headed over to Target to do a little shopping… Sofie is probably the friendliest, most talkative little baby I’ve ever met. Even before we got into the store she was yelling “bah, bah!”, and pointing at the big red Target “balls” sitting outside of the store. She tried climbing on one, “No, Sofie, we have to go into the store”.
She never sits still in the cart, she likes to stand up and wave at people, she yells “Hi! Hi! Hi!” as they walk by. Young, old, man, woman, black, brown, white, dog, if you have a pulse, it’s most likely she’ll tell you “Hi!”.
Every time we push the cart by the music section she starts “singing” loudly and dancing on the cart, at this point I’m not even embarrassed, I’m kind of impressed and awed by the fact that she is completely oblivious to everybody watching her. She doesn’t care that she’s drawing attention, she doesn’t even notice, she’s just a baby, after all.
We go into the grocery section and she starts yelling out names of fruits and vegetables she knows, “Nana!” at the bananas, “Booberry” for the blueberries. She wants those blue berries, she wants them bad. And heck, she’s a smart kid, if she wants to name fruits and veggies, she can go right on ahead.
It’s incredible how distracting she can be, I wasn’t even tired or feeling spacey, but the minute she starts talking at me she doesn’t stop, I probably spent a half hour longer in that store than I needed to… going back and forth through the store, trying to remember what I came in to buy… and she talked the whole way through, even at the check out counter she was talking up the teller. “Booberry” this, “Mama!” that… I think Sofie is certainly deserving of the “Friendliest Baby” award, she’s so outgoing, I wonder if it’s something she’ll outgrow?
