With my celebration plans for the weekend, Sofia went to my mom’s for a few nights. That Saturday morning we ate a quick breakfast and headed out to meet my mom in Seattle for lunch and I also had the chance to show off my new studio space for my beauty company. It’s so conveniently located by the ferry, I couldn’t have asked for a better location. Sofia’s cold seemed to have subsided and the weather was starting to get nicer, I’m glad that the sun will be coming out this week. I just hope it sticks around.
Saturday night’s outing with friends was a great time. I rarely ever get to go out, so I tried to soak in and appreciate all that I could, but also not get in trouble, of course!
Sunday I had a bridal photo shoot with friends from Dutta Photography, and I also went over to my studio to help renovate it. Weekends without Sofie is sometimes a bummer, but I’m glad that I also have some freedom to get the work done that I need.
I will be going back this afternoon to my mom’s to get Sofia. It looks like a great day outside so I am going to try and enjoy as much of it as I can. I haven’t ridden the ferry over in a long while, so perhaps I will do that today…
Here’s Sofie’s picture from Saturday morning before we left, she was goofing around and sticking her tongue out, so adorable.
Day 90! It’s been almost three months since we started, why does it seem like so much longer? I was looking through all the photos last night and was so amazed by how quickly she has changed in such a short amount of time, it’ll be crazy to have it all together after a year.
We took it easy yesterday. Just another pajamas and sweats day. Sofie’s cold had her cranky and tired all day, and I just kept giving her water to keep hydrated, and medicine for her congestion and runny nose. She was generally a good sport though. Took a long nap in the afternoon then kept me awake half the night with her tossing and turning, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do.
Thursday was my long work day, and I finally found out who I was working for. It was a food-blogger event hosted by Costco and The National Pork Board, (not exactly vegetarian friendly, but interesting still). Some of the top food bloggers from around the U.S. flew in for a small convention and training seminar. They also submitted recipes for pork and they took turns filming and sharing their recipes. I was there to help beautify the bloggers for their cooking segment.
I also met a few more great hairstylists and makeup artists. I’m always up for networking!
Sofie spent the day at her grandma’s house, by this point she was starting to get a bit of a cold. Runny nose and sniffles, poor baby, but it looked like she had fun nevertheless.
Still in front of that darned heater, I’m too lazy to edit it out of the photos, but oh well, she likes to pose for me, so it makes up for it.
The weather cleared up pretty nicely today. Got a chance to take Sofie out around the complex. she has basically accomplished climbing objects, and loves going down the slide. But, she also still tries to eat the bark covering the ground in the park… baby steps…
I’ve got an early day tomorrow, so should be getting ready to go to bed. Not quite sure yet exactly what’s happening, but it should be exciting. I’m doing makeup, and in the very least I’m getting paid for it. Should make for an interesting day.
Well, I guess with that said, I’ll bid you good eve. Threw in an extra photo of Sofia today, so enjoy.
The rain was coming down hard and fast nearly all day today. Such a bummer, the weather teases us like that up here. I just want it to be Summer already!
Took a quick run to the grocery store this afternoon, it was nice to get out even for a little bit. Sofie was starting to get a little pent up, the apartment is no where near as big as my parent’s house, not as much room for her to run around. I did get duped into buying a bouncy ball for her at the store though, they’re so clever, the way they place the balls where they know kids will see them…
Ah well, another photo by the vent today. Jason asked me if I was going to keep taking photos of her even after a year, I’m not sure yet, I mean, we’re hardly 3 months in, and it’s already been quite a challenge. It is cool though, I almost wish I started photos from the day she was born, but I guess that wasn’t really my concern at the time; though, it would have been neat to have that.
Yesterday was a lazy day. Just a lounging, scrounging, sweats and pjs, hanging out mostly on the floor, kind of day. The weather was not so great, I didn’t really plan on doing anything, so Sofie and just hung out around the house until Jason got home. Left overs for dinner, and early bed for everyone, pretty simple.
I definitely need more days like that, but I know I’m only going to get busier, so I should just appreciate it when I have them.
Sofie decided she likes to pose in front of the heater now, don’t know why, but as long as she stands still against a wall, I’m okay with it.
And now we’re all caught up! Jason and I sluggishly got up on my birthday morning, cleaned the house for Sofie’s return, and drove down to my parents for my birthday dinner. We ended up napping with Sofie that afternoon (we just can’t party like we used to!). Dinner with my parents was great, it was nice to have a quieter afternoon and evening. I was just happy to have my family all together, Jason was really missing Sofie last week.
This coming Saturday I’ll be going out with some more friends for an “official” birthday outing, I’m really looking forward to that as well.
Overall, I had a great weekend, I spent it with the people most important to me, and made some great memories along the way. I’d say my birthday weekend was a success, now on to my birthday WEEK!
I ended up staying the night at home on Saturday as well, and made a plan to go back to my parents for my birthday on Sunday. Another night without Sofie, but I had a great time that evening with Jason and got a chance to catch up with some old friends. The night’s plans were somewhat spur of the moment, but I’m glad we went out. An old housemate of ours was playing a show with his band, and invited us to check them out. Once midnight commenced and it was officially my birthday, we celebrated with drinks. I hadn’t gone out and had that much fun in such a long time.
Now that I have Sofia, it makes me appreciate those times so much more.
Looks like my parents had some problems getting Sofie to hold still for the camera! Got a good paparazzi shot though (or should I say, baby-razzi?), her tummy is so cute!
