Sofia 365: Day 305

Day 305: 1.9.13

If I were to describe this day in one word, it would probably be “shredding”.

Now before your mind wanders off to wonder what that could mean, let me explain…

In an effort for this family to go “paperless” this year, we have started going through all of our old paperwork that we have been carrying around for years, (my boyfriend, Jason’s, having the majority of that load), and getting rid of it.

This has actually turned into quite an entertaining activity for Sofie, who has taken to putting things into our little paper shredder. In fact, she spent over an hour at it today. And hey, I’m not complaining! If it’s going to keep her busy and happy, I’m all for it. Plus! We’re getting rid of all of our paper clutter around the house, it feels pretty good. Soon enough, we’ll have an easy, paperless, streamlined life, and I think the environment will thank us for it.

Other than that, my first acting workshop/class was tonight! So I went out for a couple of hours this evening to attend. The members of the class were all introduced today and we did the usual “first-day-of-class-getting-to-know-each-other” type of stuff. I have to admit, I did have a good time though. It’s been a while since I’ve been a part of any sort of “class” or organized group of people like that, it took today’s experience to kind of remind me of how much I missed it. It’s nice to feel like I’m a part of a group outside of my family and working realm…
Looking forward to what we’ll do next week!

Well, I guess that’s it for today! I have a lot that I’m planning for this blog, especially in terms of expanding my writing and what I cover here, and I think it’ll be good, so I’m going to be working on that the next couple of days as well. Hope you all are able to stay tuned for that!

Until then, have a good night!

Sofia 365: Day 284

Day 284: 12.19.12

I’m almost caught up! This is getting me very excited.

Last Wednesday, Jason and I got up early to get ready for our class which was downtown at the federal building. We had a full day ahead of us learning all the ins and outs of renting and fair housing (snore). It was a pretty different experience sitting in a class with Jason though, something we had never really done before, so it was kind of a fun experience despite the bore of classes and workshops all day.

We did at least have the evening to look forward to. The feature movie (Scrapper) I had worked on the past summer was having a cast and crew screening that night, so I was pretty excited to go out and see the finished product of my work!

The screening went really well, and everybody had good feedback for the movie. Later that night Jason and I headed out with our friend and producer from the movie, Ed, and had a good time walking around Capitol Hill and hanging out drinking.

I must admit, it did catch up with me a little, I don’t really go out that often and by the end of that evening I was juiced!

And here’s Sofie, photo courtesy of my parents, looking pretty sly there.
